New Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones will be launched in India on Monday. But the big gamble that Samsung has to take is with the price of the two phones. Yes, they are good looking phones with top-end specs but Samsung will have to understand the changing dynamics of the market and price it competitively to ensure that it starts appealing to the those beyond the top-end too.
The phone was launched one day ahead of this year’s MWC in Barcelona, Spain. Since the time Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, tech buffs have been drooling over the phones and Samsung is taking advantage of the hype by releasing the phone commercially as soon as possible. India is one of the first markets to get Samsung’s revolutionary flagships.
We are expecting the Samsung Galaxy S6 to be priced between Rs 49,990 and Rs 54,999 while the Galaxy S6 Edge to cost between Rs 64,990 and Rs 69,999. If Samsung bites the bullet and prices its phones a bit more competitively, it has the opportunity to recreate the success of some of its earlier flagships.
Both the phones are powered by an Exynos 7420, 8-core processor. The devices feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD(2560×1440)Super AMOLED display at 577ppi. In terms of storage, the phones will come with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB options.
