The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has rapped yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Ltd for false advertisements. Patanjali has increased its sales by using the image of its founder Ramdev. But the question arises does Baba Ramdev has any fundamental knowledge and training in making these products?
Godrej Group Chairman Adi Godrej also commented that Patanjali is moving forward only because of Ramdev and not its products. Sales of Patanjali Ayurved which sells everything from noodles to shampoos and soaps rose 64% to 731 crore in the six months that ended December 31, 2015, giving stiff competition to established firms.
