Shankar’s Tamil film, I, has hit the bull’s eye, and how. Twenty days since its release, on Pongal day, reports suggest that this Vikram-starrer has joined the elite Rs 200 crore collection club. Fresh estimates suggest it is on course to overtake Shankar’s Endhiran (Rs 256 crore) in overall business. According to reports, the film’s major chunk of business has come from Tamil Nadu, followed by Andhra Pradesh.
I did exceptionally well in the international market as well, with the US and Malaysian ticket windows leading in collections, followed by UK, Canada and Australia/New Zealand.
It has fetched mixed reviews from the critics and this might affect its collections in the coming days. Moreover, the release of new films might reduce its screen count and in turn affect its business.
