New strategy to push sales in Nano Portfolio: Tata Motors

Aftert the collapse in the sales of small car  Nano, Tata Motors is now planning several initiatives, including introducing an automatic gear shift version, to revive sales which could not meet the high level.

A Tata Motors spokesperson said “We have in place more initiatives to strengthen the Nano portfolio” , refuting reports that the company was looking to phase out the model due to continuously falling sales. The company is also planning to launch Nano with AMT (automatic manual transmission) technology.

In January 2014 the company has already launched the Nano Twist , to bring in new features sought by customers for a smart city car.

The company also realized that in domestic market with the launch of compact sedan Zest and hatchback bolt, sales of Nano droped in the last fiscal. With the launch of hatchback Bolt, Tata Motors is eyeing double-digit sales growth in the next fiscal.
