India vs Zimbabwe: India won by 10 wickets in the second match

Indian team yesterday inflicted a much needed victory in the second match of the tri-series against Zimbabwe. India defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets, chasing down the 100-run target in just 13.1 overs. Also, this was India’s first 10-wicket win in a T-20 international.

Zimbabwe got the coin-spin in their favour, and chose to bat first. Chibhabha and Masakadza were the openers for Zimbabwe.  Chibhabha struggled to bat and tried for a big hit which costed his wicket, taken by Barinder Sran. Mutombodzi,  Raza and Masakadza were also knocked out cheaply by Sran, at a score of 28/4. Bumrah becomes the leading wicket-taker in T20Is in 2016 with 22 wickets and knocked off Moor, Chigumbura and Madziva at 83/8. India restrict Zimbabwe to 99/9.

ZImbabwe poorly scraped through the 20 overs and kept losing wickets. Only Moor survived for a few overs. Sran and Bumrah impressed everyone with their bowling by taking 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh walked in to begin the chase and on the other side Donald Tiripano opened the bowling. It turned out to be a one-sided chase for India as India won in 13.1 overs, without losing any of its wickets. The final match on 22nd will decide the winner as both sides have one victory in their kitty.

The win was totally a team effort for India as bowlers restrained the target to 100 and the batsmen fulfilled their duty by chasing the target. Bariner Sran becomes the man of the match for his outstanding performance.

“It was a big victory for us. The bowlers started well and personally, I was a bit worried since we were playing our third straight game on this pitch. I wanted to bat first. The fielders backed up well and the bowlers did a great job in the first few overs” the winning caption was quoted as saying.
