Icy winds swept through the national Capital on Thursday as it recorded the lowest temperature for this date in the last six years. It was sunny but the coldest Jan 29 in the past six years with the minimum temperature dropping four notches below the season’s average at 4.8 degrees Celsius. The Met department forecast dense fog Friday morning.
“After dense fog in the morning, Delhi is likely to have clear sky Friday,” an official of India Meteorological Department said. Friday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 19 and 6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The visibility at 8.30am was 700 metres which affected arrival of 30 trains to the city while two trains were cancelled, the Northern Railway said.
