This is a big relief to Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi High Court, as he is now eligible to contest upcoming Assembly elections.
On Wednesday The Election Commission told the Delhi High Court that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal is correctly enrolled in the electoral list of Delhi and making him eligible for contest Assembly Elections.
Earlier, the Election commission had said Kejriwal is an elector of Delhi which qualifies him to be a candidate for the upcoming polls.
Sources said that under the RPA Act, Kejriwal is an elector of Delhi and can contest the Assembly Elections scheduled for February 7.
The High Court had also sought the response of Kejriwal and the poll panel on Walia’s plea for cancelling his candidature in the upcoming polls for “illegally” declaring himself as a resident of the national capital by changing his residential address.
